Satyr Romance

“Deep in the garden of legend and myth
Where most magic plants would thrive and writhe
Lay a large pond of the clearest of blue.
Shielded by trees and sealed from view.
And there hidden beyond a lush green maze
Lay two satyrs in each others embrace.
Warm radiant light engulfed this scene.
A warm summer sun graced this moment serene.
And the only sound that at that instant was heard
Was the noises of crickets and the song of a bird

No words had been uttered or thoughts had been spent
But on both lovers lips lay a smile of content.
In their drowsy state of happy day dreaming
They didn’t need to voice something so seeming.
The kind gentle breeze that around the trees twined
Brought the sent of flowers and soothed the mind
Even the playful touch of wind or the occasional bug
Couldn’t rouse them from slumber or separate their hug
The sun continued setting, but they both went on ignoring
The only sound they uttered, a happy quiet snoring.”

It’s not one of my better works, but my gallery needed some green, so I’m uploading it anyway. It’s missing a lot of detail, which is probably why I’m not so fond of it, but I like the atmosphere of it all. Used lost of brushes again. I always do when I draw lots of natural features. The water was a first. I’m not unhappy about it, but it could have been better. Mostly render effects and distorts, as you may have guessed. As always it was drawn and then coloured in Photoshop.
